Detailed Solution

Horse  was sacrificed in the Ashvamedha yagna.
The Ashvamedha yagna, or horse sacrifice, was one of the significant rituals men performed to get recognition as a raja. According to the procedure of Ashvamedha, Raja let loose a horse to wander freely under the protection of his men. The horse passed through the kingdoms of other rajas. The rajas who allowed him to pass through their territories accepted the yagna doer's domination. In any case, a raja stopped the horse; it meant an invitation to fight. The yagna organiser invited all the rajas who accepted his domination to the sacrifice. A successful Ashvamedha yagna recognised rajas as the most mighty, and he received gifts from other rajas. Trained priests performed the rituals and received gifts in return.
