Detailed Solution

Article 22 of the Indian Constitution provides the Fundamental Right to be defended by a lawyer. Under Article 22 of the Constitution and criminal legislation, each person detained has the right to legal representation. The article states that the person in custody has the right to appear before a magistrate within 24 hours of being held. The arrested person asked that any confessions made while they were in custody by the police not be utilised as evidence against the accuser. Police custody confessions cannot be used as evidence against the accused. A woman, a minor, or someone under 15 cannot be called to the police station for questioning.
