Detailed Solution

Article 15 and article 17 of our Constitution are used by Dalits to seek equality in society. Often, Dalits invoke Fundamental Rights provided by the Constitution to prevent discrimination and achieve equality. Article 17 of the Indian Constitution has banned untouchability and its practice. It is a punishable crime, and no one can be stopped from entering public places. Most importantly, Article 15, which provides for the right to equality, is an instrument to be at par with others in society. It states that no person can be discriminated against based on caste, creed, sex, religion, language etc.
