Detailed Solution

Fa-Hien/Xian was a Buddhist pilgrim who came to India in the 5th century AD during the reign of Chandragupta II from China.  In the city of Patliputra, he spent nearly three years studying Sanskrit. He produced articles on Indian Buddhist culture. He was devoted to Buddhism, the writings of Lord Buddha and his miracles. He claimed Pataliputra received little attention under Samudragupta and Vikramaditya but received top priority under Chandragupta II. Additionally, he depicted Chandragupta as a kind king by writing about benevolent organisations, rest homes, and medical assistance treatments established by Chandragupta.
