Which chamber of heart receives oxygenated blood from the lungs?

The left atrium is one of the four chambers of the heart. It receives oxygen-rich blood from the pulmonary veins, which bring blood from the lungs. The oxygenated blood then enters the left ventricle through the mitral valve. The left ventricle then pumps the oxygenated blood to the rest of the body, supplying all its cells with the essential oxygen and nutrients they need to function properly.
