Detailed Solution

The Slave Dynasty (also known as the Mamluk Dynasty) ruled India during the construction of the Qutub Minar. It was established by Qutb-ud-din Aibak in 1206 CE, who was originally a slave under Muhammad Ghori. Aibak began the construction of the Qutub Minar in Delhi to commemorate Muslim dominance in India and to honor the Sufi saint Qutubuddin Bakhtiyar Kaki. The structure was later completed by his successor Iltutmish. The Slave Dynasty was the first of the five dynasties of the Delhi Sultanate, marking the beginning of medieval Muslim rule in northern India.
