Which element helps to maintain the ribosome structure?

The two ribosomal subunits association and dissociation is influenced by critical level of magnesium ion concentration in the matrix of the cell. Generally, at ${\mathrm{Mg}}^{++}$concentration of  0.001M, the subunits of ribosomes are associated. Below this critical level the subunits get separated.
