Detailed Solution

The third estate was disappointed with the pattern of voting in the Estates General. The state was divided into three estates in which the first and second class represented the Catholics, landlords, nobility and peasants, and common people belonging to the third estate; in the Estates General each estate had one vote. So the second and first estates got the majority. The third estate was disappointed by this voting system. They believed that the voting was not done based on democratic principles so they demanded that the voting system should be changed in such a way that each member should have one vote.
