Detailed Solution

The violation of the salt tax by Gandhi led to the beginning of the Civil Disobedience Movement.
1)      As a consequence of the Salt Act of 1882, the British started imposing high taxes on salt and monopolising its production. On March 12, 1930, from Sabarmati Ashram, Mahatma Gandhi and his supporters began the Dandi March to oppose this salt tax.
2)      Gandhiji broke the Salt Laws on April 6 by making salt on boiling seawater in Dandi and thus started the Civil Disobedience Movement.
3)      The Civil Disobedience Movement used non-cooperation to pressure the British administration to grant the requirements of  Indians. Thus, Gandhi led the well-known Salt Satyagraha or the Dandi March, to start it all off.
