The Salt March is also known as the Salt Satyagraha; it was initiated by Mahatma Gandhi, and he broke the salt law by producing salt from seawater. The Salt March, otherwise called the "Salt Satyagraha," "Dandi March," and the "Dandi Satyagraha," was a demonstration of peaceful rebellion in India led by Mahatma Gandhi. He drove a huge gathering from Sabarmati Ashram on 12th March 1930 to Dandi, a seaside town in Gujarat, where they reached on 6th April. They boiled seawater and produced salt at Dandi to break the salt law.
