The Rajya Sabha (RS) is also known as the "Upper House". The Indian Parliament has two Houses and is bicameral in nature. One of the two houses, the Upper House of the Parliament, is the Rajya Sabha. The Lok Sabha is the other house (Lower House ). The states and union territories of the country are represented in the Rajya Sabha.
