Detailed Solution

The German invasion of Poland led to the start of World War II. Poland was occupied by Germany in September 1939. Hitler's desire for global dominance was strengthened by the signing of the Tripartite Pact between Germany, Italy, and Japan. In many parts of Europe, puppet administrations arose that supported Nazi Germany. By the end of 1940, Hitler had reached the height of his influence. Hitler made a mistake in 1941 when he attacked the Soviet Union. This made the German western front vulnerable to bombing and Soviet forces approaching the eastern side.
