Detailed Solution

When Gandhiji violated the Salt Act, the  incident marked the beginning of the Civil Disobedience Movement.
Mahatma Gandhi started the Civil Disobedience Movement after a request to Lord Irwin. In the other phase of the mass movement, Gandhiji thought of better-integrating people through a common problem. He raised the issue of salt as a unifying factor, as salt was needed in every household. Salt was an essential food item, and its tax was common to everyone and must be stopped. In this regard, he led the salt march, also known as the Dandi March, from his Sabarmati Ashram to Dandi, on the Arabian sea coast. He violated the salt law and called for the Civil Disobedience Movement.
