Detailed Solution

The Andaman and Nicobar Island group lies to its south-east. They are located at the junction of the Bay of Bengal and the Indian Ocean. It is a union territory to the southeast of the mainland of India, with its capital at Port Blair. The Andaman Islands and the Nicobar Islands are separated by the Ten Degree Channel, which is at 10° latitude. The southernmost point of India, Indira Point, is on this island. Barren Island is occupied by the only active volcano in India. The forests of the island are tropical evergreen in nature. It has several species endemic to India, some of which are not discoverable on the mainland. Known for its scenic beauty, the island group attracts tourists from all over the world.
