Detailed Solution

Leading industrialists like Purshottamdas Thakurdas and G. D. Birla had supported the civil disobedience movement. They led the ICC and FICCI, which fought against colonial economic dominance and supported the Civil Disobedience Movement. They gave financial backing to the campaign while forbidding the sale of imported items. Industrialists who supported the civil disobedience movement wanted to grow their companies and be protected from foreign imports. Later, the Indian Industries and Commercial Congress was established by them in 1920. In 1927, they also established the Federation of the Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industries.
