Detailed Solution

When the power is separated among different levels of government- central and provincial or regional, it is called the federal division of power. It is also described as a vertical division of power, as there is top-down power sharing. Such as in India.
1)      At Central Level - we have a central or union government that makes laws and policies for the nation.
2)      At the State Level, we have state governments that are elected by the people of that state and that work at the state level only.
3)      At Grassroot Level, we have Panchayati Raj institutions that work at the village level.
Division of power ensures that power is not centralised or in the hands of a few. On the contrary, it decentralises power and makes it closest to the people to ensure their participation.
