Concept: Neurons and neuroglial cells are located side- by- side and there are no direct junctions, similar as gap junctions, between them. Gap junctions don't show actuality between neuroglial cells. Glia, also nominated as glial cells or neuroglia, are non- neuronal cells that are located in the central nervous system( brain and spinal cord) and the supplemental nervous system that don't produce electrical impulses. In the central nervous system, glial cells consist of oligodendrocytes, astrocytes, ependymal cells, and microglia, and in the supplemental nervous system glial cells include Schwann cells and satellite cells.
