As per the Newlands law of octaves, the property of every eighth element is similar to the first element.
The Law of octaves states “if the chemical elements are arranged according to increasing atomic weight, those with similar physical and chemical properties occur after each interval of seven elements”. The theory explains only up to calcium after that it fails to explain other elements. This led to the discovery of Mendeleev’s Periodic Law.
