Which is the endocrine gland that undergoes degeneration with age?

The thymus is quite large at the time of birth but keeps reducing in size with age and by the time puberty is attained it reduces to a very small size. Thymus is degenerated in old individuals resulting in a decreased production of thymosins. As a result, the immune responses of old persons become weak. It is a naturally occurring aging phenomenon in humans.
