Amar Jiban was a full-length autobiography published in the Bengali language by Rashsundari Debi. In East East Bengal in the early 19th century Rashsundari Debi was a Young Married girl in a very orthodox household where reading was prohibited for women. She learnt to read in the secrecy of her kitchen because she enjoyed reading and writing, later she wrote her autobiography Amar jiban which was published in 1876 and was the first full-length autobiography published in the Bengali language. Through this, the lives and feelings of women began to be written in particular with an intense race; women's reading there increased enormously in middle-class homes.
