Detailed Solution

The last state to be formed in India was Telangana.
Telangana is the last and the youngest state of India, which was formed in the year 2014. It was created under the Parliament Act called the Andhra Pradesh reorganisation act 2014. This state was carved out of the present Andhra Pradesh state and formed as a separate state in India. Apart from this, many other states were constructed before Telangana; they were Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and Uttarakhand in the year 2000. The Telangana state was formed based on the criteria of regional autonomy. It was also decided that Hyderabad would be the joint capital for both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh for ten years from 2014.
