Detailed Solution

The correct option is 1st. Kanchenjunga is India's longest peak in the Himalayan range, with a height of about 8586 meters. It is the third-highest summit in the world. It lies on the Indo-Nepal border in the Great Himalayas range in Sikkim. Sikkim, east Nepal, northeast India, and north-northwest of Darjeeling border the mountain. The mountain has the form of a gigantic cross with arms extending in four directions - east, west, north, and south. The peak has great religious importance to the local inhabitants of Sikkim, and several myths are associated with it. Fatal accidents to mountaineers made the people of Sikkim object to the ascent. The first successful ascent was in 1955 by Joe Brown and George Band.
