Detailed Solution

The Shivalik is the outermost range of the Himalayas.
The Shivalik Hills is a mountain scope of the external Himalayas recognized as Manak Parbat in some Sanskrit texts. In a real sense, Shivalik signifies the 'braids of Shiva'. It expands west-northwestward over 1,000 miles (1,600 km) from the Tista river in Sikkim state, northeastern India, through Nepal, across northwestern India, and into northern Pakistan. Shivalik Range or the external Himalayas are between the Great Plains and Lesser Himalayas. The elevation of the Shivalik Range fluctuates from 600 to 1500 meters. It runs for a distance of 2,400 km from the Potwar Plateau to the Brahmaputra valley. The southern inclines of the Shivalik Range are steep, while the northern slopes are delicate.
