Detailed Solution

Miniature is a kind of small painting and is generally done in watercolour on cloth or paper.
Most miniature paintings are made in watercolours on fabric or paper and are very small in size. Wood or palm leaves were used for the earliest miniatures. Western India is home to some of the most exquisite of them, some of which were used as illustrations in Jaina's writings. Highly accomplished painters were commissioned by the Mughal rulers Akbar, Jahangir, and Shah Jahan to adorn historical and poetic writings principally. Typically depicting court settings, combat or hunting scenes, or other social life elements, these were painted in vivid colours. Only a select few, including the emperor and his close friends, were allowed to examine them; they were frequently given as gifts.
