Detailed Solution

Union government has the power to legislate on the residuary subjects.
According to our constitution, the Union Government can legislate on residuary issues that do not fall into any of the three lists(State, Union, Concurrent lists) or that arose after the constitution was written. Computer software, e-commerce etc., are an example of a residuary list.
1)      The Union List comprises topics of national importance, such as national defence, international affairs, and currency.
2)      The State List includes topics of national and local importance, such as agriculture and irrigation.
3)      The Concurrent List comprises topics of mutual concern to the Union and State governments, such as education, forests, and labour.
