which surrounds the positively charged atomic nuclei of the interacting metal ions and these are called kernels. Lead is a poor conductor of heat because it is soft and malleable and has a relatively low melting point. It is also because Lead reacts with air easily to form Lead Oxide and we know that oxides of metals do not conduct heat easily.
