Detailed Solution

Woodblock printing is a method of early print technology requiring rubbing paper against the inked surface of wood blocks.
It is thought to have originated in China in antiquity. The oldest instances of printing on fabric that have survived come from China and date to before 220 AD. By the 7th century AD, woodblock printing was practised in Tang China, and until the 19th century, it was the most popular method of text and image reproduction throughout East Asia. Eventually, the demand for woodblock printing decreased due to the invention of the printing press and other innovations.
