The noncooperation movement experienced large-scale Muslim participation. The Muslim working class participated heavily in the noncooperation campaign. Still, the civil disobedience movement saw reduced involvement from the Muslim community due to the British government's "divide and rule" strategy and the anti-Muslim and pro-Hindu Mahasabha propaganda. It began on September 5th, 1920, and ended on February 5th, 1922. The Salt Satyagraha's start on March 12th, 1930, marked the beginning of it. By refusing to cooperate with the administration, the Non-Cooperation Movement aimed to halt the operation of the government. The Civil Disobedience Movement attempted to paralyse the government by flouting a few particular laws and policies.
