Detailed Solution

Weavers are a part of the 'putting out system'.
The putting-out method, in which the merchant provides the raw material and receives the final product, is an arrangement between the merchant and the weavers. Depending on the orders for fabric he has received, the merchant divides the labour among the weavers. The merchant buys the yarn from the weavers, who then give him the cloth. This arrangement seems to offer the weavers two benefits. The weavers do not bear the cost of purchasing yarn. Additionally, the issue of selling the final fabric is resolved. The type of cloth and the quantity to be sewn are both known to weavers before they begin. This system is prevalent in the weaving industry in most parts of India.
