Ores containing amphoteric metal oxide which dissolve in alkalies can be concentrated by leaching with alkali where ore dissolves leaving behind impurities in solid state. Same is with acid leaching but the ore should contain basic metal oxide or hydroxide or carbonate.
Froth flotation method for the concentration of ore depends on wettability of impurity and wettability of ore particles which are coated with an oil.
In gravitation method the lighter impurities are washed away by running water while the minerl is left behind.
