Concept- Substances can be classified as acidic, basic and neutral on the basis of their chemical properties.Acidic substances release hydrogen ions (H+) in their solution, basic substances release hydroxide ions (OH-) in their solution and neutral substances has equal number of hydrogen ions and hydroxide ions.

Hydrochloric acid (HCl) is acidic in nature.
