When an infant eats food and drinks water with a high concentration of nitrate may cause “Blue baby syndrome”. Nitrate bind to the hemoglobin in the body, which is unable to carry oxygen. It is the condition when a baby's skin turns blue. This happens when there is not enough oxygen present in the blood of baby.
