Detailed Solution

Zinc gives white precipitate with Potassium ferrocyanide

When zinc sulphide is dissolved in dilute HCl, zinc chloride is produced. This zinc chloride then interacts with sodium hydroxide to produce a white precipitate of zinc hydroxide.

The following reaction is obtained;

ZnCl2 + 2NaOH + Zn(OH)2 = Zn(OH)2 + 2NaCl

The reaction results of a bluish-white precipitate of zinc ferrocyanide is created when zinc chloride and potassium ferrocyanide interact.

Hence, using potassium ferrocyanide with zinc results in a white precipitate.
