The Kushanas controlled the Silk Route effectively. The Kushana dynasty ruled over the northern part of India, Afghanistan, and some areas of Central Asia around 2000 years ago. Kanishka was the ruler who founded the Kushana dynasty. At that time to transport silk, silk traders had to cross difficult routes such as narrow passes and mountains; they also had to face attacks from robbers at these places. The route travelled by silk traders was called the Silk Route. Kushana rulers had the best control over the Silk Route. During their rule, the silk trade was extended to different places.
