The corridor that links Srinagar and Kanyakumari is North-South Corridor. The golden quadrilateral superhighway has been a vital project undertaken by the Indian government to connect the four megacities of  India, namely, Delhi, Bombay, Kolkata, and Chennai. This project mainly includes a six-lane highway connecting these cities and has an overall length of 5486km. Presently the overall length has gone beyond 7000kms with the addition of new planes and sections.
The north and south corridor links Srinagar in Jammu and Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu with a spur starting from Salem and going to Kochi. The length of this corridor is 4000 km.
