Sugarcane takes almost a year to grow.
Sugarcane does not come under any season and is not classified as Rabi, Kharif or Zaid crops. It is a tropical and subtropical crop.
1)      Favourable conditions for sugarcane are hot and humid climates with a temperature of  21 to 27 degrees.
2)      Annual rainfall ranges between 75cm and 100 cm.
3)      Major sugar-producing provinces are Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Haryana.
4)      Requires manual labour and can be grown on various soils.
