Renin decreases the amount of urine excreted. When blood pressure drops, renin is released by the kidneys and it converts angiotensinogen to angiotensin I. Angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) then converts angiotensin I to angiotensin II. Angiotensin II stimulates the production of aldosterone, which promotes the reabsorption of sodium and water by the kidneys, leading to an increase in blood volume and blood pressure. Thus, there is a decrease in the volume of urine excreted. Angiotensin II also causes the constriction of blood vessels, which leads to an increase in blood pressure.

(2) Atrial natriuretic factor decreases reabsorption of Na+ and water in the kidney and suppresses the secretion of
aldosterone. This increases the volume of urine excreted.

(3) Alcohol inhibits the secretion of ADH, leading to excretion of a large volume of urine.

(4) Caffeine inhibits Na+ reabsorption and, thereby, water reabsorption, leading to increased output of urine.
