Pollution is the act of introducing pollutants into the environment that are toxic to living things. The main causes of air pollution are burning fuels like coal and petroleum, smoke and hazardous gas emissions from industry, smoke emitted by vehicles etc. Therefore, air pollution can be reduced by planting trees, taking public transport wherever possible, not driving cars for small distances, utilising clean fuels such as LPG and CNG instead of diesel and petrol, always disposing of rubbish correctly and not burning it etc.
