Charcoal does not produce flame on burning.

The substances which vapourize during burning, give flames. LPG burns with a blue flame. Kerosene oil and molten wax rise through the wick and are vapourised during burning to form flames. On the other hand, charcoal does not go through the combustion process and so does not produce a flame.
