Silk fibre is taken out from cocoons.
Cotton is made from cotton seeds, jute is made from jute plant stems, and sheep are the main source of wool. From cocoons, silk fibres are extracted. The silk fibres from cocoons separate when placed in hot water. The raising of silkworms on mulberry leaves is the first step in the process of acquiring raw silk. Next, the threads from cocoons are unwound to reveal the lengthy silk fibres. Reeling is the process of removing silk fibres from cocoons for usage as silk.
