Oxygen gas is not present in biogas.
Biogas is produced by the chemical breakdown of organic matter in the absence of oxygen.
The chemical breakdown of organic matter produces biogas without oxygen. The facultative and anaerobic bacteria do this process. Gases in the biogas, like methane and carbon dioxide, result from acid fermentations. Methane is an explosive gas, while nitrogen is used as fertiliser. That's why the by-product of biogas is used as a fertiliser.
