Detailed Solution

Epinephrine and Norepinephrine are derived from a single amino acid tyrosine.

Both epinephrine (also known as adrenaline) and norepinephrine (noradrenaline) are derived from the amino acid tyrosine through a series of enzymatic reactions in the body. Tyrosine is converted into L-DOPA, which is then further metabolised into dopamine. From dopamine, the pathways diverge, with one leading to the synthesis of norepinephrine and the other to the synthesis of epinephrine.
