In the Dhekli method, the water is pulled with the help of a long log, which is placed on a V-shaped log fixed into the ground. A bucket and a load are attached at either ends of the long log. When it is moved, the bucket lowers in the well and fills with water which is then dropped into a narrow canal-like system that waters the fields.
