Concept- Quick lime, also known as calcium oxide, is typically found as hard lumps. These lumps are broken up by the addition of a small amount of water. A hissing sound and a lot of heat are produced throughout the process, turning the water into steam.
Slaked lime, also known as calcium hydroxide, is the end result of this process, which is also known as slaking of lime. The saturated calcium hydroxide solution that results from adding too much calcium hydroxide to water is known as lime water, and the suspension of slaked lime in water is known as milk of lime. Since lime water has a basic composition by nature, its PH value is higher than 7.
Calcium oxide is the quick lime, when we add water to the quick lime or calcium oxide and calcium hydroxide is formed which causes vigorous bubbling with the evolution of heat energy.
Hence, the correct answer is option 3.
