Interferon is a suitable example of cytokine barrier. These are the proteins secreted by virus-infected cells and protect non-infected cells from further viral infection. It is under innate or non-specific immunity that is present at the time of birth. On the other hand, T and B lymphocytes are produced by acquired immunity and are pathogen specific. B lymphocytes produced the specific antibodies against specific pathogen and the helper T cells stimulate and enhance the production of more antibodies.
