Detailed Solution

Tidal, wave and ocean thermal energy are the forms of energy stored in the oceans.
Oceans are abundant natural resources that replenish and sustain our nature. About 70.8 % of of Earth's surface is covered with water from oceans and seas. Oceans act as storehouses of energy due to their high heat capacity and a large amount of water. The different types of energy stored in oceans are tidal energy, wave energy, and ocean thermal energy.
Wave energy is the transmission and capturing of energy by the surface waves on the ocean. It is generated by the up-and-down motion of a floating device kept on the sea's surface. Tidal energy is produced from oceanic tides. Underwater turbines help in the generation of this kind of energy. Finally, thermal energy is the temperature difference between ocean waters and deep ocean waters.
