Detailed Solution

The Himalayan Mountains are geologically younger.
The land of India is divided into six major physiographic divisions displaying great physical variation. The most recent landform out of all six is the Himalayan mountains. Geologically, an unstable zone is formed by the Himalayan mountains. These are the geologically young and structurally folded mountains that stretch over the northern borders of India. The mountain system as a whole depicts a very youthful topography with the highest peaks, deep valleys, and fast-flowing rivers. Running in a west-east direction from the Indus to the Brahmaputra are these mountain ranges visible, consisting of three parallel ranges in their longitudinal extent.
