The Rowlatt Act of February 1919 refers to legislation passed by the Imperial Legislative Council. Rowlatt's act empowers the British government to arrest and imprison suspects, without trial in court. It caused a wave of anger among the people. It spoils the human rights of the people. Even before the act was passed, agitation began against it. Gandhiji decided to fight against this injustice law. Gandhiji started Satyagraha, and a large mass joined the protests against it in the whole country.
