Detailed Solution

Wheat is not a Kharif crop. Crops grown in summer and harvested near winter are termed Kharif crops. They are sown in summer or the onset of the monsoon from June -July and harvested near the winter from September-October. These crops require water which they receive from the monsoon rains. Therefore, the productivity of these crops depends on the monsoon. These crops take less time to grow in comparison to the rabi crops. These crops include- rice (paddy), jowar, maise,  bajra, tur (arhar), moong, urad, cotton, jute, groundnut, and soybean. These crops, especially rice, are grown all over India. Some states are Punjab, Haryana, Assam, West Bengal, coastal regions of Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Maharashtra.
