Detailed Solution

Though Dalton’s atomic theory could explain the laws of chemical combination, it failed in the  following features :

  • According to Dalton’s atomic theory, atoms were thought to be indivisible. However, under certain
circumstances, atoms can be further divided into smaller particles such as electrons, protons, and
    neutrons.
  •  His theory proposed that all the atoms of an element will have exactly the same mass. However, it was later known that the atoms of the same element can have different masses (isotopes).
  • His theory suggested that the atoms of different elements have different masses. However, it was
known that even atoms of different elements can have the same mass (isobars).

So the statement which is not a limitation is  - It did not explain the law of chemical combination.
